With the increase in websites to look for houses and the number of sites out there that are 'turn-key' operations for homeowners, one would wonder why you'd hire a Realtor.
It's often a topic of conversation when anyone is talking real estate these days, and one that is covered in the news on a regular basis. What we would say to anyone looking to sell or buy a house is to ask themselves why not at least interview a Realtor to see what they offer? (which it really is a job interview)
We'd suggest beyond asking the usual questions of how they'd market your property, or how they would work with you on finding a home is how:
1. How available are they when you need to reach them? may not seem like an issue when things are going as planned, but when you have questions or concerns, that they have the tools available to get you the information you need and in a timely manner.
2. If they work with a partner/team do you have access if needed? What kind of contact system do they have for the Client to use all the resources available to them?
3. Why did they choose Real Estate as a career? May seem like a simple question and answer, but it can be an exhausting business and knowing that your agent is motivated to work every day for your wants and needs will be a great portion of the success of your sale or purchase.
At the end of the day, using a Realtor is about finding someone who is able to anticipate your needs, find the best solution and through the whole process allow you to be involved and informed about your decision.
When you hire a Realtor its not just what's on their website or bus Ad, its how they're going to be accountable to you.
The real estate market is changing every day, and holding your agent to those changing standards ensures you get the best quality service.
Sincerely,
Adam & Mike
